See Notizie degli Scavi di Antichità, 1889, p.129.
IX.9.c Pompeii. December 2005. Room on south side of peristyle.
IX.9.c Pompeii. March 2009. South wall of cubiculum.
According to NdS, the black central panel of the south wall was completely destroyed when excavated.
In the black band beneath the frieze feeding birds were painted.
In the frieze were painted white, yellow, red and blue panels, well distributed and decorated with bacchic masks and small garlands on which a drinking-horn and a pan-pipe, or a cup and a drinking-horn were suspended.
This frieze was far superior to that of the walls.
See Notizie degli Scavi di Antichità, 1889, p.129.
IX.9.c Pompeii. March 2009. West wall of cubiculum.
According to NdS, in the central black panel on the west wall, the figure of Paris (0.44 high) was painted.
Paris was naked apart from a purplish Chlamys which covered his head like a Phrygian cap.
He held a bow in his left hand, and a quiver was suspended from a belt.
A lit torch was at his feet. The execution of the painting was poor.
See Notizie degli Scavi di Antichità, 1889, p.129.
IX.9.c Pompeii. West wall of cubiculum, as painted by Niccolini.
See Niccolini F, 1896. Le case ed i monumenti di Pompei: Volume Quarto. Napoli. Nuovi Scavi, Tav. X, and description p.37.

IX.9.c Pompeii. March 2009. East wall of cubiculum.
According to NdS, in the central black panel on the east wall, nothing remained other than the trace of a sitting man on the right, but turned to the left.
Near to him, it was thought traces of sheep could be seen, so it could be believed that this was a painting of Polyphemus in the midst of his flock.
See Notizie degli Scavi di Antichità, 1889, p.129
IX.9.c Pompeii. March 2009. Doorway to triclinium.

According to NdS, embedded in the east wall of the peristyle was a rectangular recess, about 0.50m deep.
Found on its podium were several tiles stacked in a certain order.
Another recess, smaller and not so deep, was found embedded nearby in the south wall.
Above, in this south-east corner of the peristyle, a mezzanine floor was found.
