Boyce described this as a rectangular panel of white stucco, with a square niche set into it.

Boyce said below the niche was a heavy ledge, richly adorned with complex triple frieze of various designs of polychrome modelled stucco. Upon it rested the bases of applied half-columns with capitals that supported the pedestal. All three cornices surrounding the tympanum were decorated with stucco friezes. The whole façade was decorated with red stripes against the white stucco background.

A low base for a statue stood on the floor of this recess. The vaulted ceiling of the recess was modelled as a plaster shell, and there was a stucco moulding around the curve of the recess
