IX.2.16 Pompeii. December 2007. Tablinum, looking east. According to Bragantini, the floor would have been of lavapesto with marble insets. The east wall was red. The south wall was panelled in red. The central panel contained the painting of the Three Graces. The side panels had vignettes, but they had faded. The panels were separated by painted candelabra at the base of the blue divisions. The upper zone had faded, but architectural designs would have been seen there. The west wall had red panels with borders of azure blue, with a faded vignette. The upper zone was red.
