According to Fiorelli, this entrance led into the rear doorway linked to the house at IX.1.22.
The names of Sabino, Emilio and Curvio were reputedly found in graffiti in this corridor.

According to Fiorelli, this entrance led into the rear doorway linked to the house at IX.1.22.

According to Warscher, these would have been CIL IV 2400b, 2400f, 2400e, and 2400d, and also 2400a.

On the north wall of the vestibule existed –

On the north wall of the vestibule existed this Greek inscription and beneath it, was repeated in Latin letters, CIL IV 2004a.

According to Warscher, these would have been CIL IV 2400b, 2400f, 2400e, and 2400d, and also 2400a.
On the north wall of the vestibule existed a Greek inscription and beneath it, was repeated the inscription in Latin letters, CIL IV 2004a.

According to Warscher -
“At the bottom of the north wall were some amphorae shards embedded in the concrete that served as an intermediate layer between the stones of the wall and the plaster.” 
(Note – see photos at IX.1.22 (pt.6 & 7) which appears to show amphorae shards on several atrium walls.)
