VIII.5.2 Pompeii. March 2009. Room 8, painted plaster on south wall of oecus at rear of peristyle garden. At the top of the wall there was a scene with a cock and a hen between pomegranates, turning to the right towards an altar on which were offerings; on the right there was an overthrown basket with fruit and grapes spilling out, and on which sat a bird and a goose. According to Sampaolo in PPM, this house has taken its name from the recent practice of the staff of Pompeii, to name it after the fresco in this oecus.
