Part 2      Part 1

VIII.3.27 Pompeii. December 2007. Cubiculum to south of entrance fauces. Looking through doorway to north-west corner. In this room the floor was of cocciopesto which also had irregularly scattered black and white tesserae. In the west wall it used to be possible to see the slender candelabra design in the south panel of the side panels of the middle zone. In the north wall, the zoccolo was visible as well as the red middle zone but did not retain any details of the decorations.

The remains of a room, on the left centre, would have belonged to the east wall of the kitchen rooms.
The south wall of a small room in the kitchen area can be seen, centre right.
The broken wall, on the right, would appear to lead into a long room on the south side of the kitchen rooms, and seems to be part of VIII.3.24.
