“Un secondo orto
or giardino teneva parimente il passaggio al terreno coltivato da tettoia, e
delimitato da un podio: a sinistra la cella dell’hortulanus,
cui erabo addossati tre letti triclinari di
fabbrica, avanzo di altre antiche costruzioni qui prima esistite.”

(A second vegetable garden or garden with the roofed passageway to the cultivated land and bordered by a podium: on the left the room of the hortulanus, to which three masonry triclinium couches were leaning, remnants of other ancient buildings that had existed here before.)

According to Jashemski, the three couches of the masonry triclinium were remains from an earlier period.

Il Fiorelli
attribuisce questo triclinio a costruzioni che in precedenza avevano occupato
l’area dell’ hortus.

sagoma dei tre letti e pressoche distrutta.
