According to Boyce, the arched niche on the east wall above the hearth had two holes in its floor for the bases of statuettes. Only a faint trace of the original lararium painting on the wall beside the niche remained (when he wrote in 1937). See Boyce G. K., 1937. Corpus of the Lararia of Pompeii. Rome: MAAR 14.
