II.6 Pompeii. March 2009. Looking north-west from upper level of the Amphitheatre. In the night raid of 20th September 1943, one bomb fell onto the arena, and another towards the north side. This caused the demolition of part of the enclosing wall of the arena, and a section of seats of the ima cavea on the north-west side. See Garcia y Garcia, L., 2006. Danni di guerra a Pompei.
