VII.4.57 Pompeii. Casa dei Capitelli Figurati or House of the Figured Capitals.

Excavated 1831, and 1836 (according to Eschebach). (Strada della Fortuna 6).

According to Avellino –

This building was in part excavated in 1831, but the major portion of it was brought to light in June 1832 and the two following, and the excavation was fully completed by 1833.

In March 1831, a painted graffito was found on the exterior wall –
