VI.16.27 Pompeii. March 2009. Doorway to room G, triclinium, in north wall of atrium.
According to NdS, the doorjambs would have been wooden, and the threshold was preserved, made from various pieces of marble, lined up.
On the dividing pilaster between the staircase and the doorway to room G, a graffito was seen. It was written in  charcoal, and according to Della Corte, read: DIINARIS V

A small amount of decoration remained only on the lowest part of the east wall.

VI.16.27 Pompeii. March 2009. Room G, north wall of triclinium.  According to NdS, the walls were divided into large panels with yellow background, between them was a broad black band. Painted on the black bands of the north wall were architetture fantastiche. Painted on the black bands of the west wall were arabesques and candlesticks. On the north wall were two panels, on the left (0.30m high x 0.31m wide) was Wounded Adonis. At the other end, on the right was a painting of equal size of Venus Fishing. According to NdS, the walls were divided into large panels with yellow background, between them was a broad black band.

Painted on the black bands of the north wall were architetture fantastiche.

At the other end, on the right was a painting of equal size of Venus Fishing.

According to NdS, on the north wall were two panels, on the left (0.30m high x 0.31m wide) was Wounded Adonis. Adonis with his right thigh bandaged, seated on the left but looking towards the right, with his right elbow on the back of the seat. Near to him was a cupid, who had a raised left arm. On the right side of the painting was a tree.

Adonis with his right thigh bandaged, seated on the left but looking towards the right, with his right elbow on the back of the seat.

Near to him was a cupid, who had a raised left arm.

On the right side of the painting was a tree.

According to NdS, the frieze had a white background and the remains of simple architecture, arabesques and garlands festooned with hanging objects and flying animals. Above the frieze of the north wall, on a red background, two winged creatures faced each other.

In the third panel was a picture (0.32m high x 0.31 wide) but very faded. Here could be seen a male figure sitting on the left, with his left arm resting on the back of a seat. His right arm held up towards the left. It could be Ganimede beckoning to the eagle who descends from above. On both sides of the entrance doorway was a panel, each one with a tragic mask in the middle. See Notizie degli Scavi, 1908 (p.187)
