According to this information board –
“The fullonica of Stephanus was discovered between 1912 and 1914, during excavations along Via dell’Abbondanza.
It is one of the most important and complete laundries found in Pompeii with large masonry tanks to rinse fabrics, fed by a continuous flow of water, stone basins for washing and cleaning with special types of clay and urine, upstairs terraces for drying and brushing clothes after washing, and finally, as a sign of top service, a pressing machine (torcular) to stretch and light up garments and fabrics.”

scavi lungo Via dell’Abbondanza.
